The hamburger menu is a mobile only feature that converts our standard desktop navigation, to an expandable hamburger style menu. The hamburger menu is denoted by three bars in the top right hand corner of the email, indicating this menu can be clicked and expanded.

This feature does not have to be used with Navigation. It can be used in other cases as well to hide/reveal other sections of the communication, keeping in mind; the content will be displayed statically on fallback clients.

Fallback

Best Practices

  1. Hamburger menus should be used to hide ancillary items. Often times our email navigation is considered ancillary, as the clicks we want are generally offers, CTAs, coupons, etc.
  2. Because this is a mobile only feature, the fully revealed navigation must also be designed and provided.
