Navigate the automotive market through key and developing trends
As part of our annual consumer survey, we gathered data from over 1,500 consumers who either purchased a vehicle from a dealership within the last 12 months or serviced their vehicle in the last 12 months.
Some key highlights from this report include:
- Online vehicle purchase adoption remains low.
Less than a quarter of consumers are aware if their dealership offers an online, touchless option to purchase a vehicle, and less than 19% of consumers completed at least part of their vehicle purchase online. - Younger consumers are more likely to use touchless service.
53% of younger consumers would use a touchless service option if it were available compared to 26% of consumers older than 50. - Nearly 1/4 of all searches now start with Amazon.
While Google is still the frontrunner for online search, there is a trending movement towards starting searches with Amazon. Younger audiences are also starting to show higher interest in using Amazon to shop for vehicles.
